A New Game Called Bot Trap

A New Game Called Bot Trap

A neat idea was brought up recently in our Suggestion Forums.  The idea that some people post on News threads without actually reading the content, or they might not even be real themselves (bots), is not new.  We've known this is happening for awhile.  The issue we have always come to, however, is that a large portion of our community is from all around the globe.  This unfortunately (and fortunately sometimes), means that a lot of content is lost in translation.  Many members of a different origin, believe its just being polite to thank people for their efforts.  This is not a bad way to live life.  A lot of them see others doing it, and think this is proper etiquette for the site.

However, I understand why a lot of you guys don't like seeing those replies.  For the most part, it's apparent that a lot of them are just doing it for the points and do not care about the actual articles.  This can put a damper on a lot of attitudes and also stifle legitimate conversations.  So, I also understand where you are coming from.

That being said, I think we can weed out some of the bots and ARP farmers by trying the suggestion above.  So with that, here's the rules:

Feel free to reply to this thread and discuss the topic.  Engage with other members about it and how you think we should go about rectifying this situation.  However, do not post the following replies:

"Thanks for the News."

"Thanks for the info."

"Good News"

"Thank you"

"Good Game"

"GG"

"Nice"

"Cool"

Posting any one of these replies will result in a suspension from the site.  You can attempt to lift that suspension by writing in to contact@alienwarearena.com where we will discuss with you the do's and dont's of the site.

You CAN post any of those phrases above as long as they are followed up with more context.  Example, "Thanks for the info.  I hope this finally solves the bot problem."

Good luck everyone.  Let's see how this plays out.

I can't, I can't tell.  I guess we'll see though.  I know you are on the site.  So please reply to this by quoting it.

Off topic: I love the synergy of your border, avatar and sig.
