The Battle for Azeroth pre-patch is here, and with this update we’re making some exciting changes to the way players access to World of Warcraft. Starting today, new players can gain access to all World of Warcraft content up through and including the Legion expansion simply by becoming a subscriber—you no longer need to purchase the original World of Warcraft base game. In addition, all existing World of Warcraft subscribers have automatically been upgraded to Legion at no additional cost.

Today we’re also updating the World of Warcraft: Complete Collection for new subscribers, which includes all seven expansions—including a digital pre-purchase of the upcoming Battle for Azeroth—30 days of game time*, and one Level 110 Character Boost.

GIVE THE GIFT OF BATTLE FOR AZEROTH

The next chapter of World of Warcraft is almost here, and it’s the perfect time to help your friends and family get into the action by giving the gift of Battle for Azeroth!

Once you’ve pre-purchased Battle for Azeroth and assembled your allies, it’s time to get ready for the global launch. . . .

How much is the subscription?

Too much, I suggest playing Guild Wars 2, Black Desert Online, The Elder Scrolls Online or anything that isn't extremely expensive, and is way better instead.

Currently I think it is $14.99/month but with the option to cancel anytime.

It feels kinda strange, when you payed for all expansion's and now they are free, but i don't play WoW anymore, last time i tried Legion very late after it came out but as none of my friends play anymore that run ended pretty fast. And now i could try new expansion in August but i think unfortunately i will not have time for this. Anyways imho this is very good news for everyone whoever wanted to try WoW, because you can just buy subscription for 15$ and have all expansion's which had been before. Probably blizz wants maximums players back before new expansion.

WoW sub is $15 but you can farm the gold to pay for it in game if you don't mind farming gold. After 14 years it is still the best MMO out there, sadly. I play ESO, BDO, and SWTOR as well. While all have the positives and negatives, WoW is a better game overall. I have my finger crossed for AoC but with a smaller staff and half of the development team, I have my doubts.

someone (in other forum) told me that gold can be used to "buy" for other blizzard games, is it true and how to farm gold?

I think that is impossible to buy other blizzard games with WoW gold, because all you can buy with it outside game itself is 1 month subscription coin for WoW which is pretty expensive, but it's ez to farm gold in WoW if you have at least 1 maxed character and know how to do it. Simplest way always was just to buy anything on Auction House cheaper and sell it more expensive when price is rising, same as in real life :D
