Studio Psyonix announced that it will soon become part of Epic Games.
Nevertheless, according to the developers, nothing will change for the Rocket League - the game will continue to be supported on all platforms. She will even remain on Steam.
The project team also will not change, but now it will have money and other resources of Epic Games - they will help in the implementation of various ideas that have not previously been possible to implement. In addition, "Epic" will help the development of cyber sports direction of the game.
At the end of the year, the Rocket League is due out in the Epic Games Store. Many assume that after this, developers will stop selling the project on Steam, but Epic Games and Psyonix deny the existence of such plans.

Epic Games has collaborated with Psyonix since the founding of the studio developer Rocket League in 2001. The company helped create the Unreal Engine toolkit, and also participated in the development of the Unreal Tournament 2004, Gears of War and Mass Effect 3, since it was well acquainted with the engine.

Oh Epic... DO  NOT BECOME THE NEXT EA

Might be too late for that.  Yet another sleazy move to remove the game from an already large user base and community.  It will remain on steam but new purchases can't be made on steam so that community will essentially stall.
