Tokyo Game Show 2020 canceled

The organizers of Tokyo Game Show have announced that this year’s event has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tokyo Game Show was taking place on September 24th to 27th at the Makuhari Messe convention center near Tokyo, but organizers announced there can be an online event instead.

This is the first time that Tokyo Game Show has ever been canceled since it started in 1996, but while pandemic is going on the news won’t surprise anyone. Nearly every in-person gaming event has been cancelled or delayed this year, including E3 and Gamescom, the biggest shows in the US and Europe.

Tokyo Game Show 2020 would likely have gained more attention than previous years because of its the last major trade show before the launch of the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. Both systems are set to go on sale this holiday season.

Apparently this will continue to happen with all events as long as this pandemic is still active. :(
