EDIT: Some time later I went to mobile. The store page was updated. According to the source page, it says you need to own at least one of their games (they did the same thing last year, and this game was a part of it then).

I hadn't bought any of their games AFAIK, but fortunately I didn't have to. When you sign up for the newsletter, you get a code for a free Switch game, so you're covered by then. Apparently that could've been done last year as well.
