Suggest New Features/Improvement/Fixes for Community Giveaways

Overlord

Since it's so popular and we want it to continue to grow, what are some new features, improvements, and fixes would you like in the community giveaways section?

I personally think that it is very complicated to watch over the GA's that happen over a couple of days... The tracking of them is really difficult. Maybe something like an extra notification when the giveaway is over or something like that would help that problem. (I don't even now who won in a couple of the ga's because i could not find the threads anymore) :)

Thank you for asking and trying to improve this section! And also reading this comment!

Maybe make the raffle that are using number or name to be picked by system or something, sometimes when i want to remind the TS if they are againts rules, it makes me doubt my chance in winning because of that.

I think sometimes it is hard to remember which thread I have already read and entered. If the title of thread can change to grey or other color after users click, it would be very helpful. I also agree with Patzl, it is hard to find threads.

Add a required unified single method of giving something away.  If giveaways are using steamgifts then don't put level restrictions on your giveaway; it's pointless.

I'm done with AWA

I think having everyone do the same thing is a bad idea.

Not everyone can access steam gifts for instance. Sometimes I like to chuck a key in a post and sometimes I use SG. Some games are not even allowed on SG but they are still useful if only for cards if someone doesn't have it.

Could you possibly divide the section into different area maybe? Say one for steam gifts and one for keys? I don't really understand the random raffle thing that some use but maybe a section for those.

Some of the rarer games tend to be by steam gifts and they get bumped down by the key posts. Separate sub sections would help them stay visible until they are over and get locked. If this could be done then it might also help that when a reply comes in that the post doesn't get moved back up. If they stay in some sort of date order they would be easier to follow and be easier for mods to lock once over.

I have no idea if this suggestion is even technically possible without it having an effect on the rest of the forum. I am just throwing it out there.

edit. I have 2 giveaways still running and I can't find them. Not a good situation  :)

Some hearts are true!

I think that the there should be only one topic for keys obtained from other mass giveaways; for example The Deer, Heaven Forest Nights etc. That should very much decrease the thread count and would enhance the visibility of the the more valuable giveaways.

I think that would just move the mess and plenty of people still want the mass giveaway games. For my part I have started saving up the keys and putting them all in one thread for non SteamGifts giveaways, maybe having a minimum per thread of 5 or so.

This activity is all pretty recent so it will take some time to adjust to the increase. It was only a few months back that my giveaways of 3 or 4 days prior were still on the first page.

Community Giveaways is a little different to the other forums in that the First Post date is often more relevant than the last.

The ability to sort the list by First or Last Post might be helpful, although I understand that's probably a difficult thing to implement at this point.

An indication that can tell me what threads I have already visited could be a good option.
Another useful feature would be the ability to sort the posts by "Date Created", instead of seeing them by latest comment.

I personally think that sorting after "Date Created" is not the perfect option here in this forum, you will start with Ga's from over a year or something like that, were giveaways are already over for a long time. Something like a "Sort after past 5 Days created threads" would be better here.
