Hope we can get some clarification from the mods on how the situation with the amount of stocks look in the game vault. It seems like the "no rest for the wicked" went within seconds, and that the amount seemingly was miniscule. Something should be done to make the products more available. It might be a supply-and-demand thing, if there is one game that is vastly more sought after than the rest, that might explain the attention it gets, then the stocks should be bigger

meanwhile here i am didnt even know it was out, IT'S BOTS, this website is mostly bots doing tasks and getting all the keys, it's as simple as that, you will never beat bots, there are humans that get lucky too, but bots always win.

We spend points to claim those game to create engagement and prevent random bots from getting everything but it's really just a free giveaway. They only are given a certain amount of key, the more valuable the game the less key there is.

Grey market keys dropped from 26€ to 21€ over night. That's where they all went. Best way to fix BOT SCALPERS is to stop giving out keys & switch to link activation, limited to the connected Steam account. Problem fixed!

MARSM4N I never thought of that but you are right if it was limited to the connected Steam account then less bots would try to take them.

Absolutely. Linked NON-LIMITED Steam account should be mandatory as the very minimum. Link activation would be even better but I feel like it'd be hard to implement with all the requests that happen. An IP limit would be perfect too.

Possibly a Captcha too, though I feel like that would slow down legitmate people dependng on the captcha's they get, along with accessability reasons.

They already do the account activation for community giveaways, which I suspect may be a testing ground for implementing it for the vault. Remember, the feature was nigh unusable until they fixed it less than a year ago, so it's baby steps

Admins have said multiple times that it's not bots. It's maybe 100-200 copies of high demand/value games being pounced on by a community of thousands or tens of thousands. So 90% or more people are going to end up empty-handed.

Yea, Steam OAuth key activation is rarely used. Have only ever seen it used by Bandai Namco & Amplitude Studios for giveaways. And of course by official Ubisoft resellers. Would be the "Gold Standard" for giveaways.

Hi @MARSM4N, 0auth can't become a gold standard because it's exposes authorization and token endpoints and can be used to exploit flaws in security; an interesting reading here https://portswigger.net/web-security/oauth ;plus it's really (1
