For the adaptation of Gears of War found a new screenwriter

Universal Pictures announced the name of the new screenwriter, who is entrusted with the final version of the script adaptation of Gears of Wars. Shane Salerno is the new screenwriter, who previously worked with Avatar 2, Shaft, Armageddon with Bruce Willis and the criminal thriller Savages (Particularly Dangerous).

The movie of the Microsoft franchise was frozen for a year. Until 2016, Scott Stuber (Sea Battle) and Dylan Clark (Oblivion, the franchise films "Planet of the Apes") worked on it, Shane Salerno will take the old script as the basis, but, according to some sources, can do anything with it. War will not be based on any part of the video games, but will become an original story in the created by Cliff Blezhinsky universe.The film will take place on the planet Sera.
