As of yesterday, Epic Games announced that the premium edition of Grand Theft Auto 5 will be free until May 21st, 2020. Its regularly priced at $29.99 and even during quarterly Steam sales, you cannot beat free. Along with receiving a game key, you can redeem 1 million dollars in bonus cash to dispose of however you like in GTA online. Spend it all by doubling down at a blackjack table? Or spending responsibly and buying starter packs to pave the way to make more money. The choice is yours.
Yesterday the Epic Games store was flooded with users trying to get their hands on GTA and ultimately crashed the site. I found myself refreshing the page along with thousands of other users waiting for the flood gates to be let open. The site outage lasted about 8 hours but seems to be running smoothly today and fingers crossed for the duration of the promotion.
After playing GTA5 quite awhile ago on PS4, I think its time to get back to the grind on PC and try not to spend all my money at the casino or fancy clothing options.
