Gwent Draft Mode (Beta) to release early next month replacing Arena mode

  • 5

Gwent developers from CDPR announced in the next Gwent 7.4 update, they will roll out the beta version of Draft mode which replaces the long time Arena mode. The new draft mode is expected to make the gameplay more synergistic with cards that you draft and less RNG reliant. The drafting process will be simplified in an effort to attract more casual players. You will also have the ability to draft your strategem. Things that will remain the same are no limits on number of same cards drafted and being able to draft cards from multiple factions. Another important note is there will be no entry cost and subsequently no extra rewards. The idea being that they want this to be a more relaxed friendly mode to give people less anxiety.

Your thoughts on this new Draft Mode?

I believe it's a great step in the right direction. As it is now, it's not that much opportunity to interact with friends. If you're not at the same level it gets very imbalanced. So this could make it easier to persuade friends to try it out.

What are your thoughts?

I think it'll be an improvement over the existing Arena which is too RNG reliant. Whenever I played the current arena mode or was a hit or miss. Not enough gold cards or some wacky leader ability that didn't fit with the cards presented for me to draft. Of course when I got a lot of gold cards and some generic high value leader, it was pretty fun to win games. But I would say at least half the time, it's super frustrating to have to play these games with a bad constructed deck. So because of that I'm looking forward to the new Draft mode.
