Sony in talks to acquire Crunchyroll

Sony Corp is in final negotiations to purchase anime-streaming service, Crunchyroll, for a reported $957,000,000. The popular anime-streaming service would add to Sony's catalog of original content. No word yet on whether Sony plans to compete with bigger streaming services like Netflix or Hulu. The acquisition could also be targeted at Sony's gaming division as Crunchyroll could be added to Playstation Plus as an added incentive for gamers to purchase the service. Gaming and anime are pretty common interests so it would not be surprising to see Sony leverage the purchase in that manner.
