Outbidding Take-Two EA buys Codemasters for $1.2bn
In September, Microsoft announced it would buy ZeniMax Media, the company that owns Bethesda Softworks, for $7.5 billion, the biggest acquisition in the history of game industry.
Now EA couldn't stand aside could they? They snatched away Codemasters from Take-Two offering measly $ 971 million. Clearly Codemasters shareholders found EA's offer more enticing.
Codemasters is known in the industry for their F1 and Dirt franchises. Considering EA's track record in the aquisition of game studios I fear the worst for Codemasters.
