Recommend me graphic adventures

Hi, I'm an old school gamer, I grew up playing '90s graphic adventure games (e.g. Monkey Island, Broken Sword, etc). In recent years I did not have the opportunity to play any of them, and I would like to return to the genre.

Could you recomend me some modern graphic adventures?
Thanks in advance!

Monkey Island has had some upgrades - and make it enjoyable to play again. AxeAW really gave a great starting list. Right now I'm playing the Deponia series as a break from Divine Divinity Series.

A year ago I decided since I had never played through any of the classic King's Quest games, I wanted to play through the series. I found out that AGD Interactive remade the first 3 classic games in the "modern" style of parts 5/6 & released them for free. I recommend checking them out; I needed a guide for some parts but had lots of fun, especially with the 3rd game.

Double Fine has put out some decent graphic adventure titles. Check out Broken Age

You may want to give Yesterday / Yesterday Origins a try. Point&click, story based, with dark atmosphere and dark humor. I really liked Origins for my part, I don't remember the older one.
