Yakuza 8 is coming, announcement expected from SEGA in the next weeks

Ryu ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA have announced that a new event dedicated to the Yakuza franchise will be held soon. We don't know specific details about the live event that will be held at Niconico Chokaigi (and will likely be in Japanese only), however it has been confirmed that they will be talking about the "past, present and future of the series".

We know that the team led by Masayoshi Yokoyama (who has taken the place left vacant by Toshihiro Nagoshi, passed to NetEase) is working on a new IP and many projects not yet announced, but the software house also specified that it has already started development of Yakuza 8. A real presentation of the new chapter in the series, therefore, is not at all to be excluded during the event to be held on April 29.

"The Yakuza Super Talk Stage Event" will be the perfect opportunity for SEGA and the developers of Ryu ga Gotoku Studio to share new information about the popular Yakuza series, but the authors wanted to leave a blanket of mystery around the event and not specify if there will be any particular announcements. The fact that they are also hinting at the future of the franchise, however, gives fans hope.
