I'm going to dispute that "High-end AMD parts" claim.  The 7800X3D?  Absolutely a high-end component.  But the RX 7600?  The last-gen, bottom rung GPU from AMD - and an 8GB card to boot?  Uh, no.  That's a budget/entry level GPU.  They either should've gone with a 7800 XT or the 9060 XT 16GB at a minimum (even though I'd say those are more midrange components, with the 7900 XT/7900 XTX or 9070/9070 XT more properly qualifying as "high-end" and all-around better pairings for the 7800X3D).  It has to be a mistake, right?  You're even getting a 1440p monitor as part of the prize, and the RX 7600 is not a 1440p GPU.  Sure, based on the system requirements for Echoes of Elysium, the 7600 will probably deliver 1440p no problem, but...  It's just such an odd inclusion.  It's the sort of GPU you'd pair with a 7500F or one of the 8000-series CPUs, along with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB or, at best, 1TB SSD because you're putting together a budget build - a still a solid gaming PC, but a budget build nonetheless.

Not saying I wouldn't still be thrilled to win this, but I'd definitely want to swap out that GPU.

The minimal OS is Windows 11?  Whelp, unless I win or certain folks stop screwing up the economy, I guess I ain't playing for the first year at least.  Oh well. lol.

$15,000? It's about ~$2,000 (inflating to max MSRP, but 60% during sales) for the components and peripherals and ~$13,000 for the case and labor at that rate. It sounds fun throwing out big numbers like that for artsy and promo purposes ("one-of-a-kind") until you remember that the winner has to pay taxes based off of that value. So they'll end up basically buying a Black Friday build at regular sale pricing and getting a fun case on top of it at the end of the day. These things really shouldn't be marked as higher than $5,000 which is still stretching it since the value is entirely made up anyway, but $500 for prize acceptance is a much better range than $1,300+ in this economy and devaluing intangible price components (non-shelf) shows more consideration to the community.

It's still a cool design for sure though.

It might be able to work through Proton! If you use a Linux OS and run through Steam, Proton usually keeps up with AAA titles, as long as the anti-cheat isn't kernel-level (like how EA does it). That's typically how games work on the Steam Deck.
