Latest version of Denuvo's DRM cracked yet again

fixss | 05/07/2017

It happened again -- the Denuvo anti-piracy DRM has been cracked open.

Now, the 64-bit version of Nier: Automata and Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 has also been cracked, making it useless at this point.

After a pretty good start, Denuvo is really struggling to provide a technology pirates can't actually work around. This is a serious issue for PC gaming, which was somehow returning to good levels of sales after DRM Denuvo proved stable for at least few years. We'll see if a major update of the technology can make things better in time.

It is still of great value to publishers even if it only protects a game for 2-3 weeks after release.

They know a lot of people are impatient and will buy it in that time.

I can't see it being dropped unless the crack release window is narrowed to less than a week.
