Phantom Dust Releasing for Xbox One and Windows 10 Tomorrow, and it’ll Be Free

If you were among those wondering when Microsoft would release the port of Yukio Futatsugi’s Phantom Dust for Xbox One and Windows 10, the answer is tomorrow, as shared today by Xbox marketing guru Aaron Greenberg on Twitter.

And if you’ve been asking yourself how much it’ll cost, the answer is equally pleasing, as the game will be free.

Phantom Dust was originally released for Xbox in 2004, while an Xbox One remake was announced at E3 2014. The project was then put on ice with the closure of developer Darkside Games, and replaced by this port.

If you want to see what it looks like, you can check out some gameplay here, and the first screenshot shared by Phil Spencer himself here.

At the moment there are no further information on the release, and we’ll keep you updated if anything else is shared.

So, it's the basic version and not the remastered right? Well, good news anyway. Thanks Microsoft/Xbox!

Thats great news for the fans I guess. But maybe a remastered version would have been a bit better, but hey, a free game is a free game as Spizzo said.

Ok, this was unexpected. Never played the original so this is definitely a good news for  PC players!

Can't complain about a free game, and it's nice they at least did some work on the port.  Thanks!

Actually, reading that link, it looks like this is the remastered version?

Yes, looks like the port is the remaster indeed. It's actually weird, I thought they were porting it to sell (like SEGA is doing with Bayonetta and Vanquish) not to give it for free.
