FIFA 19 allegedly will have a license for the UEFA Champions League
Last month we learned that UEFA and Konami had broken their ten-year long partnership that secured the PES Series official license for the Europa League and Champions League competitions. For many in that moment the thought went to the FIFA series, but EA Sports has not so far sounded and we still do not know if two elite club competitions will even be presented in this year's football video games.
However, it appears that the EA Sports has agreed everything with UEFA then that for Fifa 19 has secured these licenses. This information was conveyed by Ever ten Napel, the Dutchman who has been a commentator for FIFA games in Dutch language for many years. He during the broadcast of the Dutch esports tournament in Fifa 18 said:
"Every year I make new comments for FIFA games with Youry Mulder in a studio in Utrecht. For 2019 also; the game will become even better because they have added the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League. Soon I'm going to be ready with the 2019 version that goes on testing. On testing, players will check if everything is OK and then the game will be ready for release in October. "
FIFA 19 has not officially been announced yet, so EA Sports is likely to keep the UEFA competition license release as a surprise for fans. However, it is not difficult to conclude that these licenses are highly desirable, so it is only the question of who will offer more money for them. If not Konami, EA Sports is the most prominent candidate.
