Star Ocean: First Departure R is a reissue of the Star Ocean: First Departure game, which was released on PSP in 2007, which, in turn, is also a remake, but already the first part of Star Ocean, which was released on SNES in 1996.

The original Star Ocean tells about friends who have learned about a mysterious epidemic and went in search of a cure, as a result of which they collided with aliens.

Star Ocean: First Departure on PSP was released on an improved engine and added new characters, voice acting dialogues and animated videos to it.

The updated version of JRPG will be released on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, but the release date and details of Star Ocean: First Departure R have not yet been disclosed.

Would be nice if it found it's way to PC. Then hopefully Star Ocean: The Second Story gets remade as well. That is one of my favorite RPG's of all time, alongside FFVI and Morrowind.

Loved this game, Bettle battles included, but Think it was a little too vast for its own good. Tried to get a couple of friends into it and the sheer size of the game pushed them away.

Would be happy to see this brought back.
