The Last of Us 2 Release Date Is Here!

The Last of Us 2 – or The Last of Us: Part 2, if we're using its proper name – is the long-anticipated sequel to the iconic post-apocalyptic narrative game and is likely to be one of the biggest PS4 games to launch this year.

After a frustrating series of delays, The Last of Us 2 has a new, firm-and-hopefully-final release date. The game will now release on June 19, 2020.

Given the first game was hailed by players and critics alike as a masterpiece with excellent, emotional storytelling and engaging, realistic characters, we have to admit that the decision to release a follow-up isn't particularly shocking – even if the end of the game seemed pretty conclusive. We'd probably have been more surprised if there wasn't one. And yet, when The Last of Us 2 was first announced back in 2016, we'd be lying if we said our hearts didn't skip a beat. 

With a new release date to look forward to however, patient fans have a new problem to contend with – a huge, spoiler-filled leak has hit the internet, showing off gameplay footage and key story beats. For now, here's everything we know about The Last of Us 2 so far.
